

(WZZM) Vitamin D is a vital nutrient that your body needs for a lot of reasons.
Yet another reason to make sure you get your Vitamin D is new study findings that show low Vitamin D levels linked to a higer risk of Heart Disease.
More than 6,000 people were studied and researchers tied low Vitamin D levels to a 26% higher risk of heart disease among white participants and 67% higher risk in Chinese participants.
No increased risk among black or hispanic participants.
Researchers believe more study is necessary, but it's a good idea to get you levels tested with a blood test.
